Van Driver – Temp to Perm – Great Barford

Location: Great Barford, Bedfordshire
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday | Start times between 5:00 AM – 8:30 AM
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour while with agency
Annual Salary on Perm: £30,000 – £32,000 (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate starts available

The Opportunity:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Van Driver to join a reputable and growing tools distribution company in Great Barford. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate who is committed, professional, and customer-focused.

As a Van Driver, you will play a vital role in the face of the business, delivering tools and equipment to clients across the region and beyond. This is a physically demanding role requiring good stamina and attention to detail, but in return offers long-term security, development potential, and excellent working conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a company van to deliver tools and equipment to customers

• Complete multi-drop deliveries, ensuring goods are delivered on time and in full

• Maintain a high level of customer service at every point of contact

• Represent the company with a professional attitude and appearance

• Conduct vehicle checks and report any defects

• Assist with loading/unloading as required – some heavy lifting involved

• Complete delivery paperwork accurately

• Ensure deliveries are handled with care and attention

• Build and maintain strong relationships with regular clients

Your ability to represent the company well at every drop is key to our brand reputation and long-term customer loyalty.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Van Driver (3.5T or similar)

• A clean, valid UK driving licence (minor points may be considered)

• Strong work ethic with a “can-do” attitude

• Excellent customer service skills – you will be the face of the business

• Well presented with strong communication skills

• Physically fit and able to handle heavy items

• Ability to work independently and manage your route efficiently

• Good attention to detail and time management
