Job Description:

We are recruiting for a reliable and experienced Van Driver to join a busy night trunking operation based in Rochester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled driver looking for a long-term position with the potential to go permanent.

The role involves trunking deliveries from site to site (A to B) with additional warehouse sorting duties during or at the end of each shift. You will be responsible for ensuring all goods are transported and handled safely, accurately, and in accordance with company and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out night-time van trunking runs between designated depots (A to B driving)

• Load and unload vehicle as required, ensuring correct handling of parcels and items

• Complete basic warehouse sorting and general handling tasks

• Conduct pre-use vehicle checks and report any defects promptly

• Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork

• Ensure compliance with all driving laws, company policies, and safety procedures

• Liaise professionally with depot staff and follow routing and instructions as provided

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years' van driving experience (commercial or multi-drop preferable)

• Valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points (no DR, DD, IN endorsements)

• Basic DBS certificate required (or willingness to obtain one before starting)

• Good level of physical fitness – some manual handling and warehouse work required

• Strong attention to detail – must be able to work accurately under time pressure

• Flexibility to work night shifts on a consistent, ongoing basis

• Good communication and organisational skills

• A positive and proactive approach to work, with a high standard of professionalism
