HGV Class 2 Driver – Temp to Perm

Pay Rate: £17.90 per hour
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, plus 1 Monday in every 4

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis in Abingdon. This is a great opportunity for a driver who is looking for long-term work with a clear route to permanent employment. The role involves multi-drop deliveries and manual handling, so a good level of physical fitness is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out multi-drop deliveries to commercial and retail locations

• Handling goods manually, loading and unloading at each site

• Providing a professional and friendly service to customers

• Completing all relevant paperwork and logs accurately

• Performing daily vehicle checks and reporting any issues

Working Hours:

• Tuesday to Saturday each week

• 1 Monday in every 4 as part of a rotating schedule

• Early morning starts (typically between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM)

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence

• CPC and Digital Tachograph Card

• Ideally 6 months of Class 2 driving experience (newer drivers may be considered)

• Comfortable with manual handling and multiple drops

• Strong time management and customer service skills

• Reliable and professional attitude

Pay and Benefits:

• £17.90 per hour (paid weekly while temping)
