Transport Manager

Job Title: Manufacturing Manager Location: Stourport on Severn Type: Permanent Industry: Operations Salary: £80,000 to £100,000 per annum plus excellent company benefitsWorkchain is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager for our clients nationally recognised manufacturing operation, based in Stourport on Severn.Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer as a member of the Senior Management Team this position's primary responsibility is ensuring organisational effectiveness.Providing leadership for the site’s Process Manufacturing, Planning, Toolroom, Development, Despatch, Transportation and Quality functions along with ensuring the successful introduction of new sales throughout the business.Working with the management team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of Company strategies, policies and practices.This role is a permanent position.Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, key responsibilities:<ul style="margin-top: 0cm;"><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Ensuring the successful introduction of new sales into the business, along with facilitating regular new business reviews</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Improve or implement operational systems, processes and policies in support of companies targets including SOP, ISO9001, Health &amp; Safety and Environmental</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Provide advice, support and direction for all line managers responsible for production related activity</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Recruit, manage, train and motivate direct reporting staff</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal group teams and departmental heads and external suppliers</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Supporting the development of training</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Inventory control in line with budgets</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Compliance to Health and Safety policy and practice ensuring excellent standards are maintained throughout production</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Develop productivity plans to include scrap, downtime, labour efficiency and lean manufacturing</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Support the preparation and management of site operational budgets</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Provide regular management reporting to group</li></ul>Qualifications, requirements and experience:<ul style="margin-top: 0cm;"><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">HNC qualification or above with significant experience of operations in a process manufacturing environment</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Experience of the plastic process industry would be an advantageous</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Relevant professional qualifications would be an advantage</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-top: 3.6pt; margin-bottom: 3.6pt; line-height: normal; background: white;">Lean manufacturing experience and H&amp;S qualification is desirable</li></ul>Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5.00pm.The starting salary is from £80kpa to £100kpa depending on experience, with excellent company benefits including company vehicle, company mobile, laptop and bonus.Please apply online and complete the application form to be considered for this position.
