Job Title: Engineer (Semi Skilled)

Workchain is currently seeking a Semi Skilled Engineer for our client in Alfreton, DE55

Primarily the successful candidate will be responsible for maximising productivity through proactive maintenance, reducing downtime and improving machine efficiency in the sewing and cutting areas.

This role has responsibility to ensure the equipment is kept in a good running condition.

Key Responsibilities:

Will include contractors are correctly managed when on site, update the spare part inventory, keep accurate records, provide detailed reports of any maintenance, breakdowns and incidents, support other areas of manufacturing when requested.

• Ensure sewing machinery and cutting room equipment is kept in a safe working condition

• Keep machine and equipment downtime to a minimum

• Carry out proactive planned maintenance tasks without supervision

• Carry out reactive maintenance tasks without supervision

• Sourcing parts and materials from suppliers and arranging procurement through technical administration

• Administering work permits and monitoring 3rd party contractors

Key Experience:

• Experience in sewing machine maintenance and manufacturing (preferred)

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm.  

The starting salary is up to £30kpa, with excellent company benefits.
